Carnauba is one of the most
popular types of wax for polishing cars and is preferred. It is one of the
hardest waxes available and produces a fantastic shine without clouding
and is durable. It is known for its shimmering wet look.
This wax is been around for a long time.
To be exact, it was introduced to Europe about 1504 by the Portuguese. No
wonder why it is recommended for a variety of cars such as hot rods,
collectible cars, and show cars.
Carnauba protects paint surfaces from
extreme heat, sun, rain and humidity. This wax is produced from the
leaves and buds of the Brazilian wax palm in Brazil. The leaves are boiled
in water, the wax floats to the surfaces and is skimmed off and filtered.
Carnauba wax is harvested twice a year
and its marketing is controlled by the Brazilians.
